Sheffield greyhounds completed a season double over local rivals Nottingham, shutting them out in their own rink.
It was a scrappy game throughout and neither team could break the deadlock in the first period as it ended 0-0
Sheffield finally got on the board 5 minutes into the second period after a Short handed play. Miks bebris chased down a puck clearance out of the zone from George Gregg before cutting in from the left to find the back of the net for 1-0. 5 minutes later Josh Bentley added a second into the top right corner for 2-0.
Sheffield swapped net minders early in the third with Jayden Collingwood replacing Finn Wilson for the final 10 minutes. There was no further scoring but late pens made for a tense finish with Nottingham pulling their net minder in the final 2 minutes to give them a 5 on 3 advantage, but they couldn’t break through the Sheffield defence. The game ended with Sheffield taking a hard fought 2-0 win.
